PERSONALITY:
Mitsuba has a younger brother named Sougo, and when he was younger, their parents died leaving Mitsuba to raise and take care of him alone. She was already a warm and kind person before their parent's death, but when she was left to take care of him on her own, it sort of brought out her caring nature a bit more. She grew up to be a bit weak and sickly, but that never stopped her from putting her everything into raising her brother. She's kind and very doting especially toward her younger brother, but that doesn't exclude the friends she makes and holds dear either. She's really friendly, and rather excepting to all types of people. Her kindness isn't her only side though. Mitsuba can be rather naive especially when her brother is involved, and can be easily taken advantage of because she tries to see the best in people. She can also be a bit of a prankster as well which might have rubbed off on her brother a bit.
Mitsuba has always been kind and loving with her younger brother, Sougo, but it doesn't stop there. Her brother was taken in by this older Gentleman named Kondou to learn swordsmanship. Mitsuba would go and visit during their training often and bring little gifts for when they were done. She was always happy to see how much Sougo enjoyed the training, that she wanted to befriend the others there and treat them. Canon even shows her bringing a bunch of watermelons to the men to enjoy while they took a break and continued doing so until the group decided to leave their small town to go to the city to become what is now the Shinsengumi Police force. Mitsuba wanted to come along with them, not just for her brother's sake, but because she had fallen in love with one of the members of their group named Hijikata. He turned her down in a cold way, wanting her to find happiness elsewhere, and instead of acting out in hurt, Mitsuba saw them off and pushed them all forward toward their dreams. Mitsuba didn't want to hold them back, and even if it hurt, she told all of them not to turn back for even a second. She kept in contact with them as well, sending them all her favorite spicy snacks, and sending her brother letters all the time to make sure he was doing alright. Mitsuba shows so much kindness in the way she puts other's feelings above her own.
Her naive nature seems to come out most when she's with her younger brother. Mitsuba spoiled him quite a bit as a child and that sort of helped morph him into the man he became. He's known as a very bratty and sadistic man, but when he's around Mitsuba, that attitude of his completely changes. Mitsuba knows he can be a little bratty, and maybe a little rough with others, but to the extent that he is, she wouldn't believe it, even if others told her. Sougo is her precious little brother and that's what she sees when they're together. Her naive nature also comes out with her trusting nature. She gets engaged with a man she thought was a kind and caring man, mostly because she knew it would ease her brother's worry about her if she was able to find herself a good man, and she trusted this man as well. Unfortunately the man she was going to get married to turned out to be a man who was using her to try and manipulate her brother. If he could trick her brother into following his lead, then he thought that he could be able to control the Shinsengumi.
Mitsuba has a fondness for spicy food, and that's where her prankster side comes in. She loves spices to the point where it is extremely unhealthy, and along with enjoying her spicy food, she also enjoys tricking others into enjoying the spiciness with her. When she came to visit her brother Sougo, the two of them bumped into a man named Gintoki that Sougo was very familiar with. Sougo lied to his sister that this man was his best friend, and to sort of bond with the man, Mitsuba poured a whole bottle of hot sauce into a chocolate parfait and told him to eat it because it was a wonderful way to enjoy food. He didn't want to at first, and Mitsuba with a frown on her face started coughing like she was coming down with something. It got worse when he continued declining the offer causing Mitsuba to fall over, which made him finally cave in. He ate the parfait, mouth on fire, and when Mitsuba's brother held her up she just laughed and said it was just a coughing fit from her having something spicy earlier. She didn't mean any harm from it, and would never take anything too extreme, but a little prank here and there was a lot of fun.
Later on, after coming out to meet up with Sougo, Mitsuba actually falls more ill, and during this time Hijikata, someone Mitsuba held feelings for who was also a member of the Shinsengumi, found out about her fiance's plans of doing bad things. With the help of the rest of the Shinsengumi, and Gintoki, they all took down the man, but while they were away Mitsuba's condition worsened. She was on her death bed when her younger brother came to her side apologizing for taking away her happiness. Even in her final moments, she was able to stroke her brother's face and tell him that he was the troublesome brother that she was so proud of, with that warm loving expression on her face. Even in her final moments with the illness taking her away, she was kind and loving and giving off such a warm feeling.
POWERS/ABILITIES: Does the ability to eat an ungodly amount of spices and hot stuff count?
INVENTORY:If allowed, she'll only be coming with a bag of super spicy chips.
